KPK Names Three Suspects in Gratification and Money Laundering Cases in South Buru Regency Government, Maluku



JAKARTA, (Indonesia) OMIKAMI-TV - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has named three suspects in alleged corruption crimes in the form of receipt of gifts or promises, gratuities, and money laundering related to the procurement of goods and services in South Buru Regency, Maluku from 2011 to 2016.

It was revealed by kpk chairman Lili Pintauli Siregar that the three suspects were TSS as regent of South Buru from 2011 to 2016 and 2016 to 2021, and JRK and IK as private parties, on Wednesday (26/01/2022) afternoon at the Red and White House, Jl Kuningan Persada Kavling 4, South Jakarta.

In her chronological kpk chairman, Lili Pintauli Siregar explained that, "This case stems from the TSS suspect who recommends and determines the unilateral partner won to work on the project at the PUPR office of South Buru Regency. TSS allegedly asked for some money in the form of a fee with a value of 7% to 10% of the contract value or around Rp10 billion," he explained.

"TSS also allegedly bought a number of assets using the names of other parties with the intention to disguise the origin of the money received from the contractor's associates," Lili continued.

The KPK leadership affirmed that, "For his actions, Suspect IK as a Giver is suspected of violating Article 5 paragraph (1) letter a or b or Article 13 of Law No. 31 of 1999 as amended by Law No. 20 of 2001 on Amendments to Law No. 31 of 1999 on Combating Criminal Acts of Corruption," he stressed.

While the Suspect TSS and JRK as the Recipient are suspected of violating article 12 letter a or Article 12 letter b or Article 11 and Article 12B of Law No. 31 of 1999 as amended by Law No. 20 of 2001 on Amendments to Law No. 31 of 1999 on Eradication of Criminal Acts of Corruption Jo Article 55 paragraph (1) to 1 criminal code and Article 3 and or 4 of Law No. 8 of 2010 on Prevention and Prevention of Corruption Jo Article 55 paragraph (1) to 1 criminal code and Article 3 and or 4 of Law No. 8 of 2010 on Prevention and Prevention of Corruption Jo Article 55 paragraph (1) to 1 criminal code and Article 3 and or 4 of Law No. 8 of 2010 on Prevention and Prevention of Corruption Jo Article 55 paragraph (1) to 1 criminal code and Article 3 and or 4 of Law No. 8 of 2010 on Prevention and Prevention of Corruption Jo Article 55 paragraph (1) to 1 criminal code and Article 3 and or 4 of Law No. 8 of 2010 on Prevention and Prevention of Corruption Jo Article 55 paragraph (1) to 1 criminal code and Article 3 and or 4 of Law No. 8 of 2010 on Prevention and Prevention of Corruption Jo Article 55 paragraph (1) to 1 of the Criminal Code and Article 3 and or 4 of Law No. 8 of 2010 on Prevention and Prevention of Corruption Jo Article 55 paragraph (1) to 1 criminal Eradication of Money Laundering Crimes," said the KPK Chairman.



"Kpk further detained the suspects for the first 20 days from January 26 to February 14, 2022. TSS suspects are detained in Rutan Polres East Jakarta and JRK in Rutan Polres Central Jakarta," concluded KPK Chairman Lili Pintauli Siregar.

Kpk is concerned about the practice of gratification involving the Regent as a public official, who should provide services to the community, because the salaries and facilities obtained from his position are from public money.

Kpk in addition to focusing on dealing with corruption crimes, will also uncover the criminal act of money laundering. So that law enforcement in combating corruption can be more optimal in recovering state financial losses that have arisen due to these crimes.

Kpk continues to remind all parties, including business actors, to have a common awareness and commitment in efforts to combat corruption. One of them is implementing business practices honestly and with intensity.
