JAKARTA (Indonesia), OMIKAMI-TV - The government decided to give the COVID-19 Vaccine for free to the public. This was conveyed by President Joko Widodo in his press statement aired on the Cabinet Secretariat's YouTube channel, Wednesday (12/16/2020).
"I can tell you that the COVID-19 vaccine for the community is free. Once again it is free, it is not charged at all," President Joko Widodo said.
The decision was taken by the government after receiving input from the public and doing calculations or recalculations on the state's finances.
Therefore, the President instructed all ministries/institutions and local governments to prioritize the vaccination program in fiscal year 2021.
"I also instructed and instructed the Minister of Finance to prioritize and reallocate from other budgets related to this willingness and vaccination for free. So there is no reason for people not to get vaccines," he said.
On that occasion, the President also expressed his willingness to be the first vaccine recipient in Indonesia.
"I also want to reiterate, later I will be the first recipient, vaccinated first. This is to give confidence and confidence to the community that the vaccine used is safe," he said.
In his statement, the President again reminded the public to continue to be disciplined in implementing health protocols.
"I remind that people continue to be disciplined running 3M (wearing masks, keeping distance, washing hands) for the good of all of us," he concluded.
