President Joko Widodo Receives The Second Dose of COVID-19 Vaccine in The Presidential Palace, Jakarta



JAKARTA (Indonesia), OMIKAMI-TV -  President Joko Widodo received an injection of the COVID-19 vaccine for the second dose, today, Wednesday (01/27/2021) morning. Vaccination is carried out in the central courtyard of the Presidential Palace, Jakarta.

As during the first dose, when vaccinated this second dose the President also went through four stages.

Before being injected with the vaccine, the President, who was seen wearing a red jacket, first conducted registration and verification of the data, as well as health screening, including measurements of body temperature and blood pressure.

The Head of State then heads to the next table where the injection process is carried out.

In this second injection, again acted as the vaccinator of the president Vice Chairman of The Presidential Doctor Abdul Muthalib with the help of an assistant who prepared the equipment.



After the injection, the President followed the observation process of possible Postimmunization Follow-up Event (KIPI) for about 30 minutes. CoronaVac vaccine produced by Sinovac Life Science Co.Ltd injected to the President requires two injections of 0.5 milliliters each with a distance of 14 days. Previously, the President had received the first dose of vaccine injections on Wednesday (13/01/2021).

Explained by Government Spokesperson for Vaccination Reisa Broto Asmoro, the first dose vaccination aims to introduce the vaccine and its content to the immune system.

This first dose is carried out to trigger an initial immune response. Lapse of 14 days from the first dose, followed by a second injection aimed at strengthening the immune response that has been formed before. "These two doses of injections will trigger a more optimal and more effective antibody response in the future," he explained.

Furthermore, Reisa said, the antibody will only be optimal 14-28 days after the second injection is done. After the vaccination to the President continued with the provision of vaccines to a number of representatives from various circles who were also given the first dose vaccine with the President on 14 days ago.

Meanwhile, after being vaccinated a number of agendas have awaited the President, including the inauguration of the Chief of Police of the Republic of Indonesia (Kapolri) who will replace Police General Idham Azis who enters retirement next February.
