Malaysian PM's Official Visit to Indonesia Welcomes Indonesian President Joko Widodo, at Merdeka Palace, Jakarta

JAKARTA (Indonesia), OMIKAMI-TV - Indonesian President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) receives the official state visit of the 8th Prime Minister of Malaysia Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin, at Merdeka Palace, Jakarta, Friday (05/02/2021) morning.

The visit to Indonesia was Muhyiddin Yassin's first foreign visit after serving as Prime Minister of Malaysia since March 2020.

Starting the series of welcoming vehicles that carried the Malaysian PM moving from the direction of the National Monument to the Presidential Palace complex with the presence of cavalry and drum bands Paspampres troops.

Upon arrival at Merdeka Palace, PM Muhyiddin was greeted with dances accompanied by gamelan music. President Jokowi appears to have prepared to welcome the Malaysian PM.

Next, PM Muhyiddin and President Jokowi headed to the central courtyard of Merdeka Palace to attend the state ceremony. In the ceremony, the national anthem of the two countries was proclaimed.

After that, the two leaders introduced their respective delegates. There was a delegation from Indonesia Minister of State Secretary Pratikno, Foreign Minister Retno Marsudi, Interior Minister Tito Karnavian, and Head of State Protocol Andy Rachmianto.

Then, the Malaysian PM and the President of the Republic of Indonesia entered the Credential Room to take a photo together and sign the guest book by the Malaysian PM.

The two leaders then headed to the back porch of Merdeka Palace for a bilateral meeting. There, it appears that the President of the Republic of Indonesia spoke with the Prime Minister of Malaysia while still implementing health protocols.

In this bilateral meeting, the leaders of the two countries are scheduled to discuss a number of matters ranging from bilateral cooperation to regional and global issues.

After the meeting the President of the Republic of Indonesia and the President of Malaysia will give a joint press statement. The two leaders are also scheduled to perform Friday prayers at the Baiturrahim Mosque.
